The LaFavor(s) Family Reunion gathered in Pawleys Island in 2014 and held their family picnic at Huntington Beach State Park. In addition to several miles of undeveloped beach, the park features picnic shelters for your gathering (must be reserved in advance;) an education center with interpretive programs, exhibits and touch-tanks; a historic structure called Atalaya that’s open for tours; a trail through the maritime forest, and boardwalks from which visitors can observe wildlife in the saltmarsh and freshwater pond. The setting is ideal for all members of your family, including those who want to explore a natural coastal environment and those who want to simply visit an uncrowded and nearly pristine beach.
